Working Program

The project NETQUEST is founded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency in the framework of the FH+ program which focuses on the initialization of R&D structures on Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences. NETQUEST is planned as a four year lasting structural program. The first two years (buildup phase) are designated to the generation of know-how and the implementation of systems in the field of cost optimal network design; the latter two years (realization phase) are marked by enhanced development and (commercial) know-how transfer.

The project NETQUEST represents the initial impulse for the main research topic NET (Network Development and Know How Transfer Center) at the Carinthia Tech Institute. NET contains several projects dealing with topics from fiber optic networks. Beside NETQUEST, which is engaged with the economical aspects of network realizations, hardware development projects as well as the development of applications for fiber optic networks are included in NET.
