Systems Engineering

The term “Systems Engineering” describes an interdisciplinary approach to the development and realization of technical systems. Mechanical, electronic, software and business components are seen as one integrated whole. That explains why this degree program places particular emphasis on a system-oriented approach to the solving of problems.

Throughout the common basic study period students acquire an in-depth knowledge of mathematics, informatics, technical physics, electro-technology, signal processing, and automation, control and circuit technology. In the advanced study period, students have the possibility of choosing from five specialist fields:

The first year of basic studies is followed (up until the end of the fourth semester) by courses specific to the chosen field of specialization (see program outline). Students have the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge in a working environment as part of their work placement. The project year allows students to improve their professional skills by applying these to an independent project. On completing the final examination, after six semesters, students are awarded the Bachelor of Science in Engineering, BSc.
