Application

Each year 80 students have the possibility to study Systems Engineering at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Villach. The general admission requirement for applicants to study on this degree program is the school leaving certificate, a University Entrance Certificate or a vocational matriculation examination. Specialist vocational training will be considered as a vocational qualification. In such cases additional examinations in German, English and Mathematics will be required. Applicants must submit a written application before the end of August 2007. Application forms are available:

Admissions Procedures
Please include the following documents with your application: signed CV/Résumé with photo (if applicable, proof of additional qualifications), a copy of your school leaving certificate, University Entrance Certificate or vocational matriculation examination (this can be provided at later date), as well as a copy of your proof of citizenship. If you meet the conditions listed above, you will be invited to take the written entrance examination and then attend an interview. You will be informed of the outcome of your application within a few days.

The entrance examination is a standardized written aptitude test and not a subject specific. The test will assess your basic aptitude to participate in a technical degree program. In the interview we are most interested in hearing what your motivation is for choosing the Systems Engineering degree, and how you plan to successfully complete this program.

Credits
If you have completed specialist vocational training at an appropriate school, you may be given credit for prior knowledge of certain subjects in the program. Credits may also be awarded for lectures or examinations successfully taken as part of another university course, at an academy or other educational institute, either in Austria or abroad.
