
The degree program Medical Information Technology at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences is 6 semesters long, is composed of modules and upon successful completion, graduates will earn the title of Bachelor of Science. The overall program consists of 144 semester week hours and all lectures have mandatory attendance.
The focus of the first year (semesters 1 + 2) of the 3-year program is placed on the fundamentals of the following subjects: mathematics, informatics, electrical engineering, anatomy and physiology and chemistry. The three year Bach elor’s program is rounded off with an internship that is related to the field of medical information technology. The internship is performed in well-respected companies and/or institutions where students can prove and improve the skills they have acquired.
In addition to their technical courses, students are provided with courses in the areas of business, law and regulations, and English in order to prepare our graduates for the multi-faceted requirements in their future careers.
